Wolf Fever by Terry Spear

Thought it was time to share a review with you. Today’s book is of the paranormal genre, but also contains humor, intrigue and a lot of suspense and romance.
Wolf Fever by Terry Spear

Nurse Carol Wood thought she had enough on her hands trying to
cope with her psychic ability. Little did she know things were about to get a lot crazier.

In a twist of fate, Carol is bitten by a lupus garous. Now she must also come to terms with the fact that she’s a werewolf.

Because of her premonitions, Carol fights the urge to transform into a werewolf. In her visions she’s seen where the werewolves aren’t able to shift back to their human form.

Darien Silver, pack leader of the red werewolves in Silver City, is getting fed up with Carol’s refusal to accept her new werewolf condition. He doesn’t know about her premonitions. He’s decided Carol needs a mate to keep her in line and werewolves mate for life.

Meanwhile, P.I. Ryan McKinley comes snooping around because he can’t get Carol out of his thoughts. Ryan attributes it to Carol helping him with a case using her psychic ability, which he finds hard to believe. This is ironic since Ryan is the pack leader of the gray werewolves in Green Valley.

A kidnapping attempt is made for Carol. Darien suspects it was by relatives of the man who turned Carol and was then killed. Since Ryan is already around, Darien agrees for him to be her body guard. That’s when things really begin to heat up. To add to the mix, the group soon learns there really is a virus affecting the werewolves.

While trying to find a cure, Carol and Ryan fight their attraction to one another. They are strong individuals, but find that they are unstoppable as a team.

This is the sixth installment in the Heart of the Wolf series. Though references are made to prior events and people, this is a stand alone book. While the main characters will fascinate you, the secondary characters all have their own blend of charm as well.

Author Terry Spear has demonstrated once again that she can have you believing in the unbelievable. Her characters draw you in and the fast pace action keeps you enthralled until the end. Along the way she sprinkles in just enough humor with the suspense, while taking your breath away with the romance.

WOLF FEVER is the perfect prescription for warming those cold reading nights (and days). If you’re not a fan of werewolves, you will be by the end. Author Terry Spear creates werewolves that will captivate you with their honesty, love of family, loyalty, fun nature, and charming ways.

  7. I like the idea that she makes the unbelievable, believable. That's what would draw me in, that way of keeping it tied to a reality.

  13. Hi everyone, thanks for dropping by. Hope everyone enjoys this as much as I did. It's hard to describe that it's a paranormal romance but so much more.

Alex, as for Twilight I really can't compare because I haven't read or seen anything to do with Twilight. It just hasn't appealed to me like Terry's books have.

  16. I'm Down Under today, at least in spirit--talking about the series and how they began. I've never read the Twilight series, Alex. I couldn't get into the first story.

My stories are a combination of adventure, mystery, romance and combining mythology with reality. Oh, and humor. An Australian graduate student interviewed me for the thesis she was writing on shapeshifters in literature. And Monmouth University, where I received my MBA, is preparing a special feature on shapeshifters also to include my werewolf books and a couple of their professors' thoughts on the subject.

So I've really enjoyed researching wolves and trying to keep the series as realistic as possible. Sure, I introduce a new paranormal aspect from time to time--dream mating in a couple of the stories, a ghost in Heart of the Highland Wolf (a ghost is par for the course when the story is set in a Scottish castle!), and Carol being a psychic. But there are no vampires or gargoyles or dragons that will suddenly appear in the series! :)

Thanks for all the great comments, and too funny, Vicki! Petting is totally encouraged. :)
