When Calls the Heart: Change of Heart

When Calls the Heart Change of Heart cover Thoughts in ProgressThe title says it all in this latest DVD release from the Hallmark Channel series inspired by the bestselling books of Janette Oke – WHEN CALLS THE HEART: CHANGE OF HEART.

Mounty Jack Thornton (Daniel Lissing) is dedicated to his career and believed there was little room for romance. But little by little the local school teacher, Elizabeth Thatcher (Erin Krakow), has become a factor in his life.

Just as Jack finally asks Elizabeth out on a real date (and she accepts), Elizabeth’s sister, Julie (Charlotte Hegele), arrives in Coal Valley. Jack gets the biggest surprise when Julie is accompanied by Mounty Patrick O’Reilly (Ken Tremblett), his replacement. Jack had forgotten he requested a transfer his first week in Coal Valley. Torn between his duty and his increasing feelings for Elizabeth, Jack must make a hard decision.

Meanwhile, Julie encounters an injured man near town. Julie believes she is helping him get away from his outlaw brother when he is in fact the outlaw leader. In addition, Abigail (Lori Loughlin) uncovers information about the mine disaster that could also tarnish her late husband’s reputation. As trouble and danger ensues, Jack and Elizabeth have to deal with issues at hand along with their change of heart toward each other.

This is a heartwarming story that the entire family can watch together. It combines friendship, family values, humor and a touch of romance.

The setting of Coal Valley and the era portrayed takes the viewer to a simpler, but difficult way of life. The characters are realistic and likable with the actors bringing them to life with excellent performances.

Watching WHEN CALLS THE HEART: CHANGE OF HEART will tug on your heart strings and hold you spellbound wondering what will happen next. This is a charming story to share with everyone.

  2. Mason - I didn't know this one was done by Landon's son. Interesting! And it sounds like a story with a solid sense of setting and character too.

  3. It sounds like a worthwhile story. Refreshing after so many bang-bang blow-up films that seem to be the norm these days.
