Not a big fan of reality TV, I wasn’t familiar with Bethenny Frankel but found the synopsis of her fiction debut book, SKINNYDIPPING, interesting.
A hilarious read, SKINNYDIPPING follows the antics of aspiring actress Faith Brightstone as she encounters one problem after another changing careers a number of times along the way. Some may say Faith is really Bethenny’s alter ego.
Moving to LA after college graduation, Faith is determined to have it all. But when her career and personal life both hit bottom, Faith takes her dog Muffin and heads back to New York.
The move back pays off years later as Faith seems to be settling in. Then she’s given the chance to work with her idol, the legendary Domestic Goddess Sybil Hunter, in a reality TV show. Faith soon learns the man of her dreams is also within her reach. But, will the need for fame be stronger than love?
The story flows quickly and smoothly. It’s filled with hilarious laugh-out-loud moments. Be warned, however, it also contains strong language.
Frankel has created a sexy, wise-cracking, strong protagonist in Faith Brightstone. While seemingly outrageous at times, there are moments all readers can relate to making Faith more realistic.
For a fun read this summer, SKINNYDIPPING is a great book to add to your bag before heading out to the beach.

ReplyDeleteI've heard of Bethenny Frankel, but I'm not a fan of the Real Housewives shows. I do like some reality TV, though.
