Scatterbrained

Scatterbrained, absentminded, befuddled, confused, foggy, muddled, befogged. Guess what all of these words have in common, not what you think.

The common element of all these words - me. These words describe me in the last week or so. I continue to take one step forward and three steps back. With the holiday and trying to organize a last minute cookout for my in-laws’ birthdays, I haven’t been keeping up on things as well as I should. I realized yesterday I’m running behind on a number of book giveaways.

Before I get into that, I’d like to say a special thanks to a couple of
fellow bloggers who presented me with awards last week. Clarissa Draper at Listen To The Voices gave me the You Are My Sunshine Supportive Commenter Award and Jan Morrison at Living the Complicated Simple Life gave me the Versatile Blogger Award.

Thanks to both of these wonderful bloggers. If you haven’t visited their blogs, please do so. You won’t be disappointed.

Now winners of several book giveaways. Drum roll please.

Teresa at Journaling Woman won the copy of FATAL AFFAIR by Marie Force.
Pearl E. of New Mexico won the copy of A GRACEFUL DEATH  by Ann Summerville.
Kathy at Bermudanonion's Weblog won the copy of THE WEIGHT OF SHADOWS by Alison Strobel.

Congratulations to these winners and thanks to all who commented on the posts.

I have to contact the winners of Cara Elliott’s TO SURRENDER TO A ROGUE and will announce them later this week. Tomorrow I welcome Claire Cook, author of SEVEN-YEAR SWITCH and on Thursday hope to be back on track. Have a great day.

  1. We all have those days - it seems like it's getting harder and harder to keep up with everything. I hope things slow down a bit for you.

  6. I've been on holidays for a few days now - and I've got tons of little things done - but nothing I'd thought I'd get done! I've hardly touched my writing, haven't looked at the query or synopsis I'd planned on doing. Sigh. I think scattered brained is a very good description for me right now!

  12. Came over to your blog to tell you I have an award for you, and had to laugh when I saw the award already on your site. I guess I'm not the only one who thinks you deserve the You Are My Sunshine award.

Also, your opening comments on your piece today describes me to a t. I have been befuddled, muddled, befogged for about five days. All these celebrations are great, but they do distract us from writing and blogging and whatever else we would be doing if not for the holiday.

Recenly I keep saying to myself .. one step at a time .. and all will be well .. I'll be going forward - can do no more ..

It's less foggy now! Go well .. Hilary
