Scatterbrained, absentminded, befuddled, confused, foggy, muddled, befogged. Guess what all of these words have in common, not what you think.

The common element of all these words - me. These words describe me in the last week or so. I continue to take one step forward and three steps back. With the holiday and trying to organize a last minute cookout for my in-laws’ birthdays, I haven’t been keeping up on things as well as I should. I realized yesterday I’m running behind on a number of book giveaways.

Before I get into that, I’d like to say a special thanks to a couple of
fellow bloggers who presented me with awards last week. Clarissa Draper at Listen To The Voices gave me the You Are My Sunshine Supportive Commenter Award and Jan Morrison at Living the Complicated Simple Life gave me the Versatile Blogger Award.

Thanks to both of these wonderful bloggers. If you haven’t visited their blogs, please do so. You won’t be disappointed.

Now winners of several book giveaways. Drum roll please.
Teresa at Journaling Woman won the copy of FATAL AFFAIR by Marie Force.
Pearl E. of New Mexico won the copy of A GRACEFUL DEATH  by Ann Summerville.
Kathy at Bermudanonion's Weblog won the copy of THE WEIGHT OF SHADOWS by Alison Strobel.

Congratulations to these winners and thanks to all who commented on the posts.

I have to contact the winners of Cara Elliott’s TO SURRENDER TO A ROGUE and will announce them later this week. Tomorrow I welcome Claire Cook, author of SEVEN-YEAR SWITCH and on Thursday hope to be back on track. Have a great day.

  1. We all have those days - it seems like it's getting harder and harder to keep up with everything. I hope things slow down a bit for you.

  2. I'm scatterbrained all the time these days!

    Congratulations on your awards!

I'm so excited to have won one of your giveaways! Thanks so much and congratulations to the other winners!

  3. Congrats on your awards and to the book giveaway winners.

    Have a good Tuesday.

  4. Congrats to you on your Awards, and to the winners of books here! Hope you had a good holiday weekend ...

  5. Not sure what's wrong with Blogger today. Maybe it decided to take a holiday.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by. Congratulations to the winners and a special thanks to Clarissa and Jan for the awards.

  6. I've been on holidays for a few days now - and I've got tons of little things done - but nothing I'd thought I'd get done! I've hardly touched my writing, haven't looked at the query or synopsis I'd planned on doing. Sigh. I think scattered brained is a very good description for me right now!

  7. Oh, Mason, sounds like some nice deep breaths and a mini-break might be in order. Don't worry if you're behind on your bloggy stuff - we're a very forgiving audience.

  8. Relax now - you're caught up and ready for tomorrow.

  9. Kudos on yet two MORE well deserved awards, Mason. And all that other "scattered" stuff? Nah, not you!? (wink)

  10. Oh,I hear you. I don't know what's wrong with me these days - I don't seem to be able to keep it together!

I hope it will pass... for both of us!

  11. I think first of all I should congratulate you on your many awards, your blog is wonderful! And thank you for the mention.

I hope your befuddledness clears soon.

  12. Scatterbrained, absentminded, befuddled, confused, foggy, muddled, befogged? LOL, I thought you were talking about me!

Congratulations on the well-deserved awards, Mason, and to the lucky winners!

  13. Came over to your blog to tell you I have an award for you, and had to laugh when I saw the award already on your site. I guess I'm not the only one who thinks you deserve the You Are My Sunshine award.

Also, your opening comments on your piece today describes me to a t. I have been befuddled, muddled, befogged for about five days. All these celebrations are great, but they do distract us from writing and blogging and whatever else we would be doing if not for the holiday.

  14. ah those holiday weekends wreek havoc! you'll be back on track soon enough - enjoy your scatterbrainedness - it might be engendering great ideas....

  15. I am there with you! You might as well be describing me...But no worries. We'll get through this!

  16. Hi Mason .. good luck with the cooking for your in-laws .. just trying to put too much through the brain is challenging ..

Recenly I keep saying to myself .. one step at a time .. and all will be well .. I'll be going forward - can do no more ..

It's less foggy now! Go well .. Hilary
