SYNOPSIS:
From Cleo Coyle, the New York Times bestselling author of Dead to the Last Drop, comes a gripping new entry in the "highly satisfying"* Coffeehouse Mystery series. (*Publishers Weekly)
THE PERFECT PROPOSAL LEADS TO A CHILLING COLD CASE...
Coffeehouse manager Clare Cosi sheds tears of joy when her NYPD detective boyfriend surprises her with an engagement ring. But her bridal bliss is put on hold when a chilling mystery brings a wave of deadly danger to those she holds dear...
After everything Clare and Mike have been through, they deserve a little bit of happily ever after. So when Mike decides to put a ring on Clare's finger, Clare's eccentric octogenarian employer is there to help. She donates the perfect coffee-colored diamonds to include in the setting and the name of a world-famous jeweler who happens to be an old family friend. But while the engagement is steeped in perfection, the celebration is not long lived.
First, a grim-faced attorney interrupts their party with a mysterious letter bequeathing a strange, hidden treasure to Clare's daughter. Next, the renowned jeweler who designed Clare's ring is found poisoned in his shop. Both events appear to be connected to a cold case murder involving a sunken ship, an Italian curse, a suspiciously charming jewel thief, and a shocking family secret. With deadly trouble brewing, Clare must track down clues in some of New York's most secret places before an old vendetta starts producing fresh corpses.
With recipes to die for, including how to make cold-brew coffee at home!

Sadly I can no longer drink coffee (a food intolerance). The smell is still a joy though. And a coffee and chocolate shop smells like heaven on a stick.
ReplyDeleteI love coffee houses! I always try to get a mocha latte.
ReplyDeleteOld family secrets make some of the best stories! This is terrific series and I'm looking forward to the latest installment.

ReplyDeleteI don't like coffee either. I usually get some kind of fruit smoothie when my wife drags me into a coffee shop.
ReplyDeleteOh, another Coffeehouse Mystery! The 'Cleo Coyle' team does this series quite well, I think. And what a fun setting for the series, too...

ReplyDeleteI love coffee, and I've loved this series from the first. Just when you think they can't come up with a book even better than the last they do just that. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite series. Have them all in hardback!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAfter surgery could not have coffee for 18 months. TORTURE!!!!!! Thanks for a wonderful series!!!!!!
First, I am so glad about the romance between Clare and Mike...I was always rooting for them. Coffee? My passion as well. This series has helped to stir my interest as I now grind my own beans and have become better at using my French press. I love coffeehouses...always thought I'd love to run one myself. The best one locally was "Safari." With its intimate sitting, dark environment, and the intoxicating scent of on-site roasting I was thrilled to spend a relaxing time sipping a cappuccino and nibbling on a homemade cheesecake or chocolate delight. They had piped in music softly in the background that didn't interfere with conversations or a quiet read...I love coffeehouses!
ReplyDeleteI almost never go to coffeehouses, just not my thing I guess. I think the last time I did, I had an apple juice. The book sounds good though, thanks for the chance to win a copy.
ReplyDeleteCoffee goes with everything! I love the old-fashioned coffee shop-coffee houses. They are so cozy. This is such a cute series.
ReplyDeleteI love this series and am a bit behind on reading it. One of my goals this year is to catch up on it!! And I'm glad to be back reading your blog again!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love this series and the recipes
