SYNOPSIS:
Special Agent John Puller, combat veteran and the army's most tenacious investigator, is back in this action-packed thriller from worldwide #1 bestselling author David Baldacci.
NO MAN'S LAND
Two men. Thirty years.
John Puller's mother, Jackie, vanished thirty years ago from Fort Monroe, Virginia, when Puller was just a boy. Paul Rogers has been in prison for ten years. But twenty years before that, he was at Fort Monroe. One night three decades ago, Puller's and Rogers' worlds collided with devastating results, and the truth has been buried ever since.
Until now.
Military investigators, armed with a letter from a friend of Jackie's, arrive in the hospital room of Puller's father--a legendary three-star now sinking into dementia--and reveal that Puller Sr. has been accused of murdering Jackie.
Aided by his brother Robert Puller, an Air Force major, and Veronica Knox, who works for a shadowy U.S. intelligence organization, Puller begins a journey that will take him into his own past, to find the truth about his mother.
Paul Rogers' time is running out. With the clock ticking, he begins his own journey, one that will take him across the country to the place where all his troubles began: a mysterious building on the grounds of Fort Monroe. There, thirty years ago, the man Rogers had once been vanished too, and was replaced with a monster. And now the monster wants revenge. And the only person standing in his way is John Puller.
Two seemingly unrelated paths collide in an adrenaline-fueled journey through the talented creation of author David Baldacci.
The dual narration by Kyf Brewer and Orlagh Cassidy enhances this thriller. Both narrators have great timing and perfect pitch. Their mannerisms and accents add depth to the story bringing the various characters to life with their own unique voice.
The story moves at a fast pace and holds the listener’s attention from beginning to end. The story moves back and forth between the two core characters (John Puller and Paul Rogers) smoothly.
Baldacci weaves a story of intrigue, mystery, and suspense that will have you trying to guess the surprising outcome. As the paths of the characters begin to cross back and forth, deeper secrets come to light.
The characters are well-developed and realistic despite experimental elements. Baldacci creates such personalities you even may pull for one of the bad guys.
A thriller to keep you on the edge of your seat till the find word, NO MAN’S LAND is riveting and can be listened to on its own. You don’t want to miss this thriller.

FTC Full Disclosure – A copy of this audio book was sent to me by the publisher. However, receiving the complimentary copy did not influence my review. The thoughts are completely my own and given honestly and freely.
Thanks for stopping by today. Have you read any of Baldacci’s books? Do you like stories that have two plots going on at once and brings them together in an explosive end?
I do like multiple plots - so long as they can be reconciled skilfully, which it sounds as if this one does. Thanks for the heads up.
