Here’s a brief synopsis of the book:

Astrologer Julia Bonatti never thought her chosen profession would bring danger into her life, but her outspoken advice in her newspaper column, AskZodia, makes her the target of San Francisco’s recently-arrived cult leader, Reverend Roy of the Prophet’s Tabernacle.  The followers of the power hungry preacher will stop at nothing to quell the voices of those who would stand in his way and Julia’s at the top of his list.  She’s willing to bet the charismatic Reverend is a Mercury-ruled individual, and she knows all too well that Mercury wasn’t just the messenger of the gods, he was a trickster and a liar as well.

THE MADNESS OF MERCURY is available for pre-order at the following sites: Amazon and Barnes and Noble.

  1. It does sound like fun. I am a Capricorn, and like many of us, have to be careful that I don't take root and turn into a tree.

    1. LOL! I love your comment! But just remember, Capricorns are ambitious, they're always climbing mountains too. Thanks for visiting today and best of luck!

  2. Pretty Cool; congrats Connie. I'm a Libra, which probably explains why I can never totally make up my mind about things; balance is my curse and quirk :) I love reading Zodiac writings and figuring out how they can be interpreted.

    1. Me too! We definitely share that interest. The more I've learned, the more fascinated I've become. It's been great fun for me to have Julia solve her mysteries using astrology too. Good luck to you!

    1. Hi Dezmond - Mercury can be trouble. You can think what you want, but be careful of what you say. A rule I should remember more often! Best of luck!

    1. Hi Alex- I was always disappointed I never knew my (rescued) cats' sun signs. Always had to guess from their personalities. Good luck to you!

  6. This is an interesting context for a mystery, Mason. And a lot of people are interested in their zodiac sign, even if they don't really subscribe to astrology. Thanks for sharing.

    1. Hi Margot - Thanks for visiting. I hope everyone will enjoy Julia's adventures whether or not they like astrology. But at least her profession allows her to meet all sorts of people and get into all kinds of trouble. Best of luck!

    1. Hi Elizabeth, yes, publishers love protagonists with a "hook." I have to give another author a plug here. I thought I was the first with an astrologer, but Sunny Frazier (Black Opal Books) writes about an astrologer too. And her books are terrific, I plan to read one of hers soon. I do hope you get to enjoy Julia's adventures as well. Best of luck!

  11. A really fun premise, and the cover is adorable. Congratulations, Connie!

I’m a Capricorn, born on the cusp of Aquarius. While I don’t hold to astrology, I have to admit I fit the Capricorn profile perfectly. Add to that my passion for water (influence of Aquarius), and I start to wonder...

  12. Thank you! And thanks for visiting today! It really is uncanny when a description is so apt. Of course, with prediction, a lot depends on the art of the astrologer. I hoped to make Julia a very skilled one. I hope you enjoy her adventures in crime-solving! Best of luck!
