Queen of Regency Romance Celebration And Giveaway

Georgette Heyer, the “Queen of Regency Romance,” is one of the most beloved authors of all time and Sourcebooks is the North American publishing home for all 52 of her delightful novels, which are back in print.

In light of what would have been Georgette’s 110th birthday anniversary on Aug. 16, Sourcebooks is hosting a birthday giveaway. I’m delighted to be part of that celebration and be able to offer 1 lucky visitor a surprise grab bag prize pack of 3 different Heyer novels: 1 romance, 1 mystery, and 1 historical fiction (US and Canada addresses only).

9781402238796Fans of Heyer’s work all have “Heyer moments”—stories about how they discovered her, which novel is their favorite, how they used to sneak and read their mother’s copies, and so on. Sourcebooks loves hearing these stories from fans and what better time to sing the praises of a favorite author then on the anniversary of her birthday.

Sourcebooks is asking readers: “How did YOU9781402218040 discover Georgette Heyer?” You can participate (and enter the giveaway) by commenting on why you love Georgette Heyer and your own personal “Heyer moment,” or why if you haven’t read her novels why you want to start.

Readers can also join Sourcebooks’ special author page on Facebook to view regular specials and deals, some favorites lists, and tidbits of juicy Regency-era trivia. There will also be a special eBook promotion in honor of Heyer’s birthday.

  1. I don't remember the specific title that brought me into the fold, but I do remember the accidental meeting I had with Georgette Heyer at my library. It was when I was a stay-at-home mom and was reading voluminous quantities of books every week. I was actually looking for a different author on the shelves and her books jumped out at me. I grabbed up almost the entire shelf of her books for my reading week. Now, once a year or so, I go into comfort reading mode and she's the first author I want to read.

  2. I read many of her books in the late sixties when I traveled to work in London by train, but haven't picked up one in years. I'll put these on my TBR list.

  3. I discovered Georgette Heyer when I was young and had obtained my library card. The classics and her books set in different eras captivated me. I love being transported to various places and found her writing extraordinary and wonderful. The book that began this wonderful journey was Arabella. saubleb(at)gmail(dot)com
