Alphatudes, The Alphabet of Gratitude by Michele Wahlder

(“Alphatude: noun - a person, place or thing for which one alphabetically expresses gratitude.”)

When looking for a positive approach to life reach for a copy of Michele Wahlder’s “Alphatudes, The Alphabet of Gratitude.”

The book features 26 solutions for challenges we face daily. The book stresses the importance of focusing on the good in our lives. Each solution features a quote, a beautiful illustration that assists with the teaching, a life-affirming statement, and concludes with a prayer.

“As we increasingly become aware of and grateful for our blessings, the appreciation that resides within us grows, deepens and radiates brightly into our world.” This is a quote from the book’s introduction and is a good example of the book’s focus.

“Alphatudes” is geared to help the reader find the hidden blessings in their difficult situations. In addition, the emphasis is to make the reader more aware and appreciate the daily gifts of life.

An added bonus to this delightfully energizing book is a free music download from Olivia Newton-John. Directions for obtaining the free download of “Grace and Gratitude” is in the back of the book.

Author Michele Wahlder volunteers for several nonprofit organizations that offer adults and children opportunities to enhance their lives and pursue their dreams. For more information on her go to alphatudes.com, lifepossibiilities.com, and michelewahlder.com

  1. Mason - What a fascinating book! I believe that attitude is important, and that includes being aware of the good in our lives and "tuning in" to it. Too often, I've seen how a change in attitude can change everything. I like the idea of deliberately trying to focus on what is good in our lives. Thanks for this book idea.

  2. Attitude is everything. It often makes the difference between success and failure, coping and falling apart.

I'm an optimist with my feet firmly planted in reality. As I've always told my son, it's the attitude you bring to reality that's important. Even in seemingly impossible situations, the right attitude will lead you to a workable solution. I've found this to be true more than once.

Thanks for sharing this one Mason. :-)

  4. I love this concept and will check out her book. I really think your attitude has everything to do with what you get. Each morning I count my blessings, express gratitude, and look forward to whatever the day brings. Life is good.

  5. Thanks for the great review of Michele's book. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I've read this one too and found it quite interesting--especially considering I am more of a pessimist than an optimist. I'm going to use it to see if I can change my outlook. :)

    Thanks again.

  6. This sounds like a good book. I almost hate to admit it, because some people seem to look down on reading "inspirational or "self-help" books, but I really enjoy them and this sounds like a good. I believe in gratitude! I find such books encouraging and inspirational. I would like to read it.

Cheryl, I have to admit I'm a pessimist too. But I did find the book quite enjoyable and helpful.

Mary, I usually don't read many "inspirational" or "self-help" books but I'm glad I did this one and think I'll read more now.

  8. This sounds like a lovely book. It's so important to remember to be grateful - it really changes your energy. It's impossible to be grateful and unhappy at the same time.

Ingrid, I'd never looked at that way but you're right. You can't be grateful and unhappy at the same time. Thanks. :)

Carol, I think it would make a nice gift especially for someone who might be having a difficult time. It might help them realize there is good if you look hard enough.

Diane, you're right attitude is everything. We just have to keep a positive attitude.
