Reaching for Christmas by Jemi Fraser

I’m delighted to be sharing another book by my friend, fellow blogger and author Jemi Fraser. Her Boo Moose Romance series should definitely be on your TBR list, no scratch that, they should be books you’ve read.

The latest release is REACHING FOR CHRISTMAS. It’s the story of Lil LaChance and Max Fortini, two fun characters that have popped up a time or two in previous installments of the series.

Lil LaChance has been hiding a major secret from her family and friends for three years. But now the man who attacked her has escaped from jail and she just wants to be home for Christmas.

Exhausted from a tour promoting his latest thriller, Max Fortini needs space to figure out if he has another book in him. Instead, he finds a dog snoring in his guest room and a sexy intruder in his bed. Exactly where he’s always wanted her. Except she’s sleeping with a gun under her pillow.

Max puts together clues while Lil tries to keep her secrets. But when the felon seeks revenge, they’ll have to trust each other if they’re going to make it through to Christmas.

REACHING FOR CHRISTMAS is the fifth book in the Bloo Moose Romance series. Each book can be read as a standalone. The book contains some strong language and sexy times.

Now here are my thoughts.

Tackling sensitive subjects can sometimes make a story stiff and hard to read. Author Jemi Fraser knows how to overcome these hurdles with a moving story that flows smoothly and draws you in quickly for a fascinating journey.

The author tackles an attack on a woman and all the problems that follow, especially when the woman tries to handle everything all on her own. The female protagonist is strong, vulnerable, funny, scared, and very protective of her family and friends. The male protagonist is the kind of character most every female reader long for – handsome, protective, caring and a soft touch for those he loves.

The story takes on the emotional aspects of an attack, ways people deal with the issues and overcoming those issues. The author weaves a breath-taking story blending those emotions with love, laughter, suspense, family, friends, and tantalizing romance.

Lil and Max are characters from previous stories in the Bloo Moose Romance series that have popped up from time to time. They get their chance to shine in REACHING FOR CHRISTMAS, and shine they do. You don’t have to read the series in order to enjoy this book, but you may find yourself wanting to know more about the other residents Lil and Max interact with.

This is a story that will tug on your heart strings, have you fearful for Lil’s safety, cheering for romance, and especially finding yourself lost in a story that envelopes you from beginning to end. Come along for a trip to Bloo Moose where the residents will feel like friends before you finish the first chapter.

Thanks for stopping by today. Be sure to check out this book and the other installments in the Bloo Moose Romance series. I can’t wait for the next installment. Do you like to see minor characters in one story get their own story?
