Now for my thoughts on this fun book.

A story that can make you smile or makes you wonder about something is a good read no matter what age group it is written for.

BUBBA AND SQUIRT’S MAYAN ADVENTURE is just that kind of book. It’s listed as a middle grade or juvenile fiction genre, but it is a fun read no matter your age. The author combines mystery and the past into a fascinating adventure.

The story is a great way to get youngsters interested in history and learning, while reminding adults about some of the mysteries of the world. The author also includes recipes and bits of real history at the end of the story.

The characters are realistic and well developed. The brother and sister team of Bubba and Squirt will remind of you youngsters you know (or were yourself). The story flows smoothly at a good pace and is a quick read.

The author intertwines Mayan culture, mythology, fun, mystery, and imagination into a tantalizing journey you won’t want to miss.
