SYNOPSIS:
The New
York Times bestselling author of the Manor House Mysteries and the White
House Chef Mysteries returns with a mix of murder and mayhem for curator Grace
Wheaton.
Now that Grace Wheaton has
officially been named heir to Bennett Marshfield’s fortune, her usually busy
schedule has become a juggling act. In addition to her duties at Marshfield
Manor, she’s bankrolling her roommates’ refurbished wine shop, Amethyst
Cellars. Grace is excited to check out the rustic space with Bruce and Scott.
But that excitement turns to dismay when they stumble upon the body of the
banker involved with the sale.
Grace wants to get to the bottom
of this mystery quickly so that her friends’ new venture isn’t overshadowed by an
unsolved murder, but she’s got even more to balance when her troubled sister,
Liza, is released from prison early. Liza’s first stop is Marshfield Manor and
her first priority is grabbing a bite of Bennett’s fortune for herself. Grace
has to keep her greedy sister at bay and catch a killer before her new life
comes crashing down around her.
One of
the many things I enjoy about author Julie Hyzy’s characters is how realistic
they are.
Hyzy
gives us characters we can care about and worry with as we would real friends.
She puts them in situations we can relate to and some we can’t. The characters
have developed over time and grown as we come to cherish them more with each
new adventure.
GRACE TO
THE FINISH moves at a good pace and holds your attention
from beginning to end. The setting draws you in as you want to know more. Grace
is faced with a number of issues that make for interesting twists and turns.
New
readers can follow the story without a problem. Returning fans will be
delighted to catch up with these intriguing characters. This is an enjoyable
read that will keep you entertained and guessing at the same time.

I am new to Julie Hyzy and her work. It has been fun exploring what is available from her, and this book seems a great place to start...Heir to a fortune? New wine shop? Murdered banker? All perfect for a cozy read!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this series. Also the White House Chef series. Julie Hyzy is one of my favorite authors. I can't wait to read this!
ReplyDeleteI do like characters involved in more than one thing--when those things interfere or conflict with each other can cause problems or even hilarity.
ReplyDeleteI have been meaning to read this series, but haven't gotten around to it yet. Thanks for the chance to win one of the books.
ReplyDeleteI think it's realistic when a character is involved in more than one thing.
ReplyDeleteYes, I don't mind that they are involved with more than one thing. It can be realistic, especially when they help tie things together.
ReplyDeleteMultiple things going on is fine, it can make things more interesting. Thanks for the chance to win.
