Little One Is Gone

My heart is broken and I can’t find the words to say much more.

Little One is the beautiful cat I use as my avatar. She would have been 17 years old in a few months. She passed away peacefully at home yesterday (Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014).

She had slowly began eating less in the last couple of days, which was something she did from time to time. When she went, she went quickly within 24 hours.

Little One on a logThere is so much I want to say about her, but it will have to be at a later time.

I want you to know how very special she is to me. I just can’t do it right now.

Hug those you love (two and four-legged). They can be gone before you know it.

  1. My heart hurts for you. Nothing is much worse than losing a fur baby. She was just lovely; there is something so exquisite about torties. Cherish the many years of beautiful memories you had together.

  4. Oh Mason. I'm sitting here crying as I'm typing this. My heart is breaking for you. It's always devastating to loose a beloved cat, but to loose her so suddenly - there are no words. You're in my thoughts. Be gentle with yourself during this hard time. I hope in time, memories of your time with Little One will replace the pain of missing her.

  9. I am so sorry. This is pretty much what happened to my 15 year old dog in November. I know how painful it is to feel your heart breaking. What a lovely life she must have had with a loving family.
    Thinking of you.

  12. Oh, Mason. I am so very sorry to hear you have lost, Little One. So heartbreaking. The pain of loss is positively gut-wrenching. I feel for you. Truly I do.

I lost Coco, my little shih tzu, last year. I will never get over it. She was and still is my avatar on twitter.

This is no consolation whatsoever, but she will always be with you in spirit and as your avatar (I hope) for the rest of the world to see.

The pain get marginally less with the passage of time.

    Take care of yourself xoxox

  19. I just saw your comment and immediately raced to your place. I'm sorry to hear about Little One, but I know how well loved she was. Her and Essy definitely could have been sisters, I imagine they're somehow together causing trouble like we loved. <3 <3 <3
