Review and a Giveaway

With the holidays fast approaching I have a special giveaway and a review to share with you today. First the review since we all know books make wonderful gifts no matter the time of year, but the holidays are a great time to buy for youngsters.
Sabrina K. Carpenter
This is a delightful story of an adventure young Isaiah James and his family go on one day.

The story combines learning, imagination, and family togetherness. During Isaiah’s adventure he soared with the seagulls, rode a seahorse, and swam with the dolphins.

Author Sabrina K. Carpenter uses her debut children’s book to encourage youngsters and their parents to treat each day as an adventure. It's a fun book for parents to read to their children, as well as the children to read as they get older.

The beautiful illustrations by Doreen Freeman add a magical element to this inspiring story.

The Adventures of Isaiah James: Beach Boy by Sabrina K. Carpenter, Illustrated by Doreen Freeman, Perfected Pen Publishing, @2010, ISBN: 978-0982773710, Paperback, 30 Pages

FTC Full Disclosure - I requested this book and it was sent to me by the author in hopes I would review it. However, receiving the complimentary copy did not influence my review.

by Jane Graves is a 400-page paperback.

Accountant Heather Montgomery is a planner. So never in her wildest dreams did she think she'd run into sexy charmer Tony McCaffrey in Vegas, play lady luck, and celebrate his jackpot with a champagne-soaked night. And she certainly never expected to wake up the next morning married! Quickly hitched and happily ditched, Tony can't wait to get back to his playboy ways. But when Heather's family is thrilled that their no-nonsense daughter is finally in love, he proposes a plan: stay married for a month to repay his good luck charm, even though she sterilizes his toothbrush and forbids anything between the sheets. TALK OF THE TOWN (ISBN: 9780446618588) by Sherrill Bodine is a 336-page paperback.

Darlings, what a to-do at the Daily Mail today! After fifteen years as Chicago's gossip guru, Rebecca Covington has been demoted from divulger of secrets for the city's elite to headlining recipes in the Home and Food section. Apparently, a touchy senator is threatening legal action for Rebecca's latest extramarital scoop. But Windy City rumor has it that new CEO and dreamy Pierce Brosnan look-alike David Sumner downgraded Rebecca in favor of fresher, younger blood on the social beat.

Industry insiders expect Rebecca to fight her denouement, and inquiring minds have already seen the feisty maven trading quips and searing glances wtih her arresting new boss. Rebecca swears she'll reclaim her shining star status, but can the dishy diva even cook? And how can she ignore David's arousing effect on her sensibilities?

Don't miss a trick, darlings. Sparks are going to fly.
