SYNOPSIS:

In the latest Southern cozy from the author of The Calamity Café, small-town chef Amy Flowers can’t take her freedom for granted when she’s served up as a murder suspect...

It's Independence Day in Winter Garden, Virginia, and the residents are gearing up for their annual celebration. The Down South Café is open and flourishing, and Amy Flowers is busy making pies and cakes for the holiday. The only thorn in her side is Chamber of Commerce director George Lincoln, who is trying to buy the café so he can tear it down and build a B&B on the site.
When George collapses while eating at the Down South, everybody assumes it's a heart attack—until the autopsy declares it to be poisoning. Now, it’s up to Amy to prove her innocence before her liberty is lost.

Includes delicious Southern recipes!

The down-home, Southern feel comes through author Gayle Leeson’s delightful new release, SILENCE OF THE JAMS.

Protagonist Amy Flowers is spunky and fierce, but still a bit vulnerable. Her charming personality pops off the page and invites readers in. The secondary characters are witty and entertaining giving more depth to the story.

The author blends the right amount of intrigue and suspense with friendship and family relationships for a well-balanced read. She demonstrates the close-knit community friends create. The twists and turns will keep you on your toes as you puzzle out the killer. The story moves at a steady pace as the mystery unfolds. Sprinkled among the clues is a group of characters you’ll come to love and be able to relate to.

It’s not necessary to read the first installment in the series in order to keep up with the characters and events. However, to get the full enjoyment of the setting and characters don’t be surprised if you’re drawn to catch up.

This is a tantalizing mystery filled with engaging characters, an entertaining tale, and tasty recipes.
