Darkness cannot claim what Light does not surrender.... But sometimes it follows you home. There are portals opening to realms far beyond the fields we know.

Not since the Black Plague has Death taken so many lives across so much of the known world as has World War II.

There is a Cosmic Balance. Such an ocean of shed blood and thunder of anguished screams have opened Doors behind which Beings have been impatiently waiting to be released.

Veterans from WWII have returned to Los Angeles and New Orleans thinking they had seen the last of Hell.

          They were wrong.

Here are my thoughts ….

When the protagonist is a sociopathy that lives by the words of Marcus Aurelius you know you’re in for an unpredictable, scary adventure. FRENCH QUARTER REQUIEM doesn’t disappoint.

Author Roland Yeomans has created a captivating, intense story set in post-World War II Hollywood and its dark underbelly with a side trip to a haunted mansion in New Orleans. The author shares a new look at Hollywood icons such as Alfred Hitchcock and Cecil B. DeMille.

Narrator Scott O’Dell does a wonderful job of bringing all the characters to life. He gives each their own unique voice. O’Dell adds depth to the story through his mannerisms. His tones and speech flow are perfect for this spooky story.

Yeomans has blended historical figures, captivating landmarks and bewitching new characters into a gripping story of murder and intrigue. The author’s ferocious research and energetic imagination fused into a compelling story of tangled lives and ghosts.

With unexpected twists and turns, you never know what to expect next. A fascinating story from beginning to end.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope I’ve stimulated your reading (listening) appetite for Roland’s story.

I also want to share a bit of news about the author with you. Roland is homeless due to Hurricane Laura and problems continue due to Tropical Storm Beta. He lost almost everything and if he doesn’t find a place to stay by the end of the month, he will be homeless and lose his beloved cat, Midnight.
