On Tour With Relative Danger by June Shaw and a Giveaway

I’m delighted to be participating in author June Shaw’s Great Escapes Virtual Book Tour for her fun new release, RELATIVE DANGER, the first installment in her Cealie Gunther Mystery series.

As part of the tour I’ll share my thoughts on this intriguing book, tell you a bit about the author, share the links to the other blogs participating in the tour, and give you the details to a giveaway of this book.

First here’s a brief synopsis of RELATIVE DANGER:

This is book one in a trilogy featuring widowed Cealie Gunther, who “thinks” she wants to avoid her hunky lover Gil Thurman, but he opens Cajun restaurants wherever she travels — and she is so bad at avoiding tempting dishes and men.
Spunky widowed Cealie Gunther is a woman of a certain age whose zeal for adventure keeps her in the thick of things—like trouble. She pops up in town early to watch her motherless granddaughter Kat graduate, only to discover that because of a death—accidental—or murder?—graduation might not take place.
Determined to find the truth, Cealie snags a job as a substitute teacher, exposing much violence, lurking menace and more disturbing questions than answers. The only thing certain is that a killer has decided she and her grandchild need to be expelled—permanently.

RELATIVE DANGER by June Shaw

RELATIVE DANGER UNTREED READS COVERCealie Gunther isn’t your usual protagonist and that makes her all the more fun to follow.

Author June Shaw has created well-developed, realistic characters that are likable. This is a cozy murder mystery that is based in family and the desire to protect loved ones with all the zany things that happen along the way.

Cealie Gunther is looking forward to her granddaughter Kat’s graduation. But Kat isn’t graduating because her favorite teacher is being accused of murder. Cealie decides to take a substitute teaching job at the school to find out what’s going on.

The closer Cealie gets to finding the killer, the more danger she and Kat face. Not sure who to trust, Cealie tackles the investigation on her own and in her own unique way.

Shaw has crafted a well-blended plot that’ll keep you guessing until the end. Woven among the twists and turns of suspense, Shaw adds romance and a good dose of humor to keep the story flowing at a steady pace.

RELATIVE DANGER features a grandmother amateur sleuth that will keep you on your toes and laughing as you try to solve this fascinating cozy murder mystery.

  1. Mason - First, thank you so very much for helping to support the charity anthology. I truly appreciate it!!

Now, on to today's post. I'm always happy to see characters who aren't - er - twenty anymore take the lead in novels. And this one sounds like a solid context for a story - especially with great Cajun food. Thanks for sharing.
