Yummy Treats

Gourmet Gifter August box - Thoughts in ProgressHave you ever sat down to read a book or watch a movie and gotten the munchies?

Sometimes you just can’t help yourself and want something to snack on as you’re whisk away to relax a bit.

I recently had the opportunity to partner with Gourmet Gifter and sample some of their tasty treats that fit the bill perfectly. Today I want to tell you about the CHILI CHEESE PUFFS and the SALTY SWEET ADDICTION. Both of these items were delicious while being completely different. I’ll tell you about the other items in the box a bit later.

First item we tried was the CHILI CHEESE PUFFS. I found these to be nothing like I anticipated and far better than I had hoped.

Chili Cheese Puffs - Thoughts in ProgressI thought the puffs would be crunchy and extremely spicy as they’re called CHILI CHEESE PUFFS after all. Instead the puffs are a bit spongy (for lack of a better way to describe them, but in a good way) and they melt in your mouth if you leave them long enough. They’re not overly spicy, but have just a touch that makes them flavorful.

Once you try them, be aware you won’t be able to stop with just one or two. Go ahead and fix a bowl full, they are that irresistible. Just be sure to keep a napkin handy as they are a bit messy leaving the golden chili cheese powder on your fingers. I know, go ahead and lick it off your fingers – I won’t tell.

The second item we enjoyed was the SALTY SWEET ADDICTION Kettle Corn.

Now when it comes to popcorn, I’m the type that likes lots of salt and a touch of butter. Other than caramel corn, I’ve not tried any popcorn that was sweet tasting.

Salty Sweet Addiction - Thoughts in ProgressThe combination of salty and sweet makes this popcorn so delicious, even a non-popcorn lover liked it. You taste one and then the other. With a taste like that it’s a good thing it has some healthy advantages too.

The SALTY SWEET ADDICTION is

*100 percent all natural
*Gluten free
*Low calorie
*Low in sodium
*A great source of fiber
*Free from trans-fat, cholesterol, preservatives and IMSG

Another element I liked about this popcorn is that Gourmet Gifter uses non GMO butterfly popcorn because it has a rich corn flavor. The corn doesn’t pop quite as large kernels as some other brands, but it’s packed with more flavor punch. They also use corn oil, pop in authentic steel kettles, and season during the popping process.

Both treats will satisfy those snack cravings whether you’re reading a book, watching TV, or just relaxing.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope I’ve temped you to try one or both of these treats. Do you like popcorn? If so, do you like it plain, salty, with butter, etc.?

  2. Noooooo!
Do you have to work on my weaknesses with every post?
I try and avoid lusting after/purchasing new books. You put temptation in my way.
I am starting to look like the Abominable Bulk - and you put temptation in my way.
Fortunately I don't think either of these treats are readily availabe here. But I am hungry now.

  4. Pass on the puffs, but the popcorn looks good. I do prefer the lower calories, because that means it isn't swimming in oil. (Which is why we eat air-popped corn at home.)

    1. Alex, air-popped corn is soooo good. I'm not a fan of oily popcorn either.

  6. I'm sure the popcorn is addictive.

We tend to munch on veggies and I've gotten really good at making my own low-fat hummus.

    1. Diane, both treats are addictive. I go through phases where I want just veggies to snack on and then that sweet craving comes back.

    1. Lee, now that you've said that I have to go eat a 'little' bit more of the popcorn as all of the puffs are already gone.
