Bloo Moose Series by Jemi Fraser

I’m delighted to welcome friend, fellow blogger and author Jemi Fraser to Thoughts in Progress today to talk about her new series, Bloo Moose, and the release of the first three books in that series.

These books are captivating, and you can’t help but smile while you’re reading them. Here’s a little synopsis of each before Jemi tells how the series came about.

Welcome to Bloo Moose, Vermont where love is worth the risk! Small-town contemporary romance with an element of suspense. Each book is a stand-alone read.

Please join me in giving Jemi a warm welcome to Thoughts. Welcome, Jemi. Please tell us what inspired you to write this series?

Thanks so much for having me on the blog today, Mason!

This series has been in my head and heart for years. The town of Bloo Moose developed around two core families - the LaChance family who run the main fishing/camping lodge and the Fortini family who run the best restaurant in town.

The inspiration for the town came from the small towns surrounding my small city in Northern Ontario. While Bloo Moose is in Vermont, the climate and wildlife are pretty similar. I love small-town romance and love series where each book shares a setting, but the characters change with each book.

What was your writing process like and how did the pandemic effect that?

I tend to write in short bursts throughout the day. Life is always busy, busy, busy so I’ve learned to dive in whenever I’ve got the chance. Characters walk around in my head for a few weeks (or years) before they’re ready to jump onto the page.

The pandemic has changed a lot. Our community has been vigilant about physical distancing and taking care of our vulnerable people (yay!) so we’ve been mostly at home. I’ve been providing childcare which explains part of the busy, busy, busy - but it also explains the reason the pandemic hasn’t been able to topple my mental health! Kids are so often the very best of us and my life is always filled with fun!

Jemi, thanks for joining us today and sharing this insight into your wonderful series. I have to say the settings in your books adds another element that draws you in quickly.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with Jemi, here’s some background on her.

Thanks everyone for stopping by today during Jemi’s visit. I hope you’ll stop by later this week for my review of these delightful stories. Do you enjoy storylines with a small-town feel where you get to know more townspeople as the series continues?
