The Great Scots Tour with Paula Quinn, Sue-Ellen Welfonder (+Giveaways)
It’s my pleasure to be participating in The Great Scots Blog Tour featuring two delightful authors, Paula Quinn and Sue-Ellen Welfonder, as they talk about their latest releases. In addition, the ladies have some awesome prizes their giving away during their tour.
Paula’s THE SEDUCTION OF MISS AMELIA BELL (March 25, 2014; 9781455519514; $8) is Book 1 in her brand new sinfully sexy, Scottish romance series “The MacGregors Highland Heirs”! Edmund MacGregor makes his return from CONQUERED BY A HIGHLANDER.
Sue-Ellen’s TO LOVE A HIGHLANDER (April 29, 2014; 9781455526222; $8) is Book 1 in her brand new Scandalous Scots series.
Here’s a brief synopsis of THE SEDUCTION OF MISS AMELIA BELL:
Edmund MacGregor will do anything to save Scotland from English rule-even kidnap Lady Amelia Bell for ransom. As the daughter of a duke and the chancellor's betrothed, she's the perfect pawn in this game. But from the moment he first lays eyes on his spirited captive, he can't resist stealing a kiss.
Lady Amelia's duty is to marry well, but that hasn't stopped her from fantasizing about true love. So when a sexy Scot appears in her home, she's beguiled. When he kidnaps her, she's furious. Yet as Edmund introduces her to a world of passion beyond her wildest dreams, can she leave her family behind for this handsome Highlander? And will Edmund risk the only true home he's ever known to capture the heart of this lovely lass?

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
New York Times bestselling author Paula Quinn lives in New York with her three beautiful children, three over-protective Chihuahuas, and a loud umbrella cockatoo.
She loves to read romance and science fiction and has been writing since she was eleven. She loves all things medieval, but it is her love for Scotland that pulls at her heartstrings.

Now here’s a brief synopsis of TO LOVE A HIGHLANDER:
As one of the bastards born to the Stirling court, Sorley the Hawk has never known his mother or father. It's a burning quest he has devoted himself to uncovering at any cost. But as a roguish warrior who serves at the pleasure of the King, his prowess-both on the battlefield and in his bedchamber-is legendary. So when a flame-haired Highland lass sneaks into his quarters with a tantalizing proposition, he can't resist taking her up on her offer.
Lady Mirabelle MacLaren will do anything to keep from marrying her odious suitor, even sully her own good name. And who better to despoil her than his sworn enemy, the one they call "Hawk?" As they set about the enjoyable task of ruining her reputation, Hawk and Mirabelle soon learn that rebellion never tasted so sweet.
This book can be found at the following sites: Amazon, B&N, iTunes, and Goodreads.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Sue-Ellen Welfonder is a Scotophile whose burning wish to make frequent trips to the land of her dreams led her to a twenty-year career with the airlines. Now a full-time writer, she's quick to admit that she much prefers wielding a pen to pushing tea and coffee. She makes annual visits to Scotland, insisting they are a necessity, as each trip gives her inspiration for new books.
Proud of her own Hebridean ancestry, she belongs to two clan societies: the MacFie Clan Society and the Clan MacAlpine Society. In addition to Scotland, her greatest passions are medieval history, the paranormal, and dogs. She never watches television, loves haggis, and writes at a 450-year-old desk that once stood in a Bavarian castle.
Sue-Ellen is married and currently resides with her husband and Jack Russell terrier in Florida.

Everyone wants a Scotsman. I have Scottish roots - does that count?
ReplyDeleteHaving Scottish roots definitely counts, Alex.
DeleteHi Alex, welcome and thanks for stopping by! And yes, it does count! :)
DeleteMason - Thanks for sharing this. There is just something about that Scottish setting, isn't there? It has a real allure.
ReplyDeleteMargot, there is something mysterious and captivating when it comes to a Scottish setting and all things Scottish. We can't seem to help ourselves.
DeleteHi Margot, thanks so much for stopping by :) Scotland is the most written about country, Isn't it something? It's stepped in honor and patriotism and romance!
DeletePaul and Sue-Ellen, it's always a delight to participate in your tours. Wishing you both much success.
ReplyDeleteHi Mason, I'm sorry, I couldn't find your name. It's a pleasure to be here today! Thanks so much for hosting the tour! I love your cat avatar and your beautiful memorial to your pet babies. Sue-Ellen and I are both animal lovers and we both have dog babies, so we're going to feel very welcome here! :)
DeleteHi, Mason! Thank you for sharing this fabulous tour and giveaway featuring two terrifcally talented authors! I am a longtime fan of both Sue-Ellen and Paula. These wonderful ladies reign supreme in the Scottish Historical Romance genre!
ReplyDeleteWhat do I enjoy about Scottish historical romances? I'd love to be the heroine of one and be swept away by my very own hunky Highlander! Being half Campbell and half Conner, I trace my heritage to Scotland and Ireland. Scotland, Ireland, and Wales are unmatched in breathtaking beauty, fantastic folklore, mystical music, and romantic resonance! A tiny trio which emanates passion, poignancy, and power many, many times greater than the actual size of the lands. Ancient, amazing, awe-inspiring…and anything but archaic. Awesome!
The excitement of discovery and the anticipation of goosebump-raising delights are part of the pleasure of a new book series. When I am hooked on a series, I will collect the entire set. Whether it’s great characters or an intriguing story line, or both, I’ll stay with it until the end. In the final analysis, it’s always the ability of the storyteller to spin a great tale that makes the difference.
Hi Virginia! Welcome and thank you so much for stopping by! Thank you also for your kind words about Sue-Ellen and I. I agree 100% about Scotland, Ireland, & Wales. You said it brilliantly! My earlier work, Lord of Seduction takes places in Wales. I LOVED researching such a timeless place.
DeleteWe have a Celtic festival here every year. I get to see lots of men in skirts. ;) One time as I was going to my car to leave, I caught a man using the side of the building for his urinal. And then there was the time when one old guy bent over too far. Well you know.
ReplyDeleteI bet the above books are great stories.
Welcome Teresa, thanks so much for stopping by! I just went to the NYC Tartan Day Parade and the kilts were everywhere! It was wonderful lol Everyone was keeping thei kilts down!
DeleteI think for me why I like reading anything that features Scottish heroes and heroines is my maternal grandparents came from Scotland, so I can remember listening to them and hearing their accents, I have a soft spot for anything Scottish.
ReplyDeleteHi Jean! Welcome and thanks for coming! There's nothing more beautiful to me than a Scottish accent!

ReplyDeleteMargot ~ So true! Everyone loves Scotland and with good reason. It is a place like no other. In my former career as an airline stewardess, I was able to travel the world and saw many beautiful places, yet nowhere did I encounter a land as magical as Scotland. It just speaks to the heart and soul of everyone, worldwide.

ReplyDeleteJust popping in to say "Hey" to Sue-Ellen and Paula! :)
ReplyDeleteHa ha ha ha, Teresa, no kidding, kilts do make lots of things easier for the men wearing them! I had the same experience in Glencoe once, hill walking. by myself. The kiltie was at a tree though, not a wall. Don't know which one of us turned a brighter shade of red.
ReplyDeleteJean MP ~ What beautifil memories to have Jean! You're so right, they have the beauty of the hills in their voices. So soft and liting and musical. Soothing and lovely beyond description.
ReplyDeleteCathy P ~ Great big hugs to you today! And lots of happy 'mad' waves, too. As Paula said, it's so good of you to keep up with this on the tour. It means a lot and is appreciated so much!! So glad you're enjoying the stops. We are, too. :)
