"No love, no friendship can cross the path of our destiny without leaving some mark on it forever." - Francois Mauriac
I think this quote is very true in so many ways. On this Valentine's Day I thought I'd share a few words and photos with you. Keep it short and sweet, so to speak.
The people I have befriended through this blog have and will leave a mark on my destiny. I think each person we encounter does that in some little way. Sometimes without us even realizing it. I have grown in my knowledge of writing and publishing thanks to my blogging friends. I have grown in my appreciation of books of all genres thanks to my blogging friends. I have grown the most in the understand and caring of others thanks to the friendships of those I have meet through blogging. So yes, a mark has been left.
What about those we love? What mark have they left on us and we on them? I'm not talking about just the true loves of our lives, but those people that we are fond of, care about and are concerned for. What type of mark are we leaving on them?
With this in mind today, share a smile and a friendly hello with the stranger you meet. Take time to call that family member and/or friend you haven't spoken to in awhile. What about that elderly neighbor down the street? Would 30 minutes out of your day cause you that much trouble, while giving them so much joy that someone remembered them on this special day? The gift doesn't have to be flowers, cards, chocolates, or any type of trinket. The gift is you showing you care.
On this the day of love, I share with you my love of people and books. My your day be filled with wonderful moments, joyous feelings, and fabulous memories. And for the record, there's nothing wrong with giving a few roses, a box of chocolates, a little bling, and having a romantic meal on this very special day of the year! :D
Immature love says "I love you because I need you." Mature love says "I need you because I love you."- Erich Fromm
