A Killer Retreat (Returns)

A Killer Retreat - Thoughts in ProgressIf you dropped by last week hopefully you caught author Tracy Weber’s visit on Thursday (Jan. 8) when she discussed her new release, A KILLER RETREAT, and her writing.

Today I’m delighted to share my thoughts on her latest book.

A knowledge of yoga isn’t required to enjoy author Tracy Weber’s recent release, A KILLER RETREAT, the second installment in her Downward Dog Mystery series.

This intriguing story is filled with suspense, humor, a touch of romance, the love of animals, and murder – of course. It’s a good blend for an entertaining read.

Kate Davidson is looking forward to teaching yoga classes at the Elysian Springs resort. When she encounters a rude woman who turns out to be a guest of the wedding party at the resort, it will take a lot of meditation to calm Kate’s nerves. But when that same woman is found dead in the resort’s hot tub after a public fight with Kate, it will take a lot more to clear Kate’s name as the prime suspect.

With the help of her boyfriend Michael, her best friend Rene, and her German shepherd Bella, Kate is determined to uncover the real killer. The twists and turns the group takes will keep you guessing.

The author has created realistic, likable characters that readers can relate to. The love of animals is woven throughout the story adding depth to it. The secondary characters enhance the story and the friendship bound rings true. The resort setting draws readers in while the suspense holds them spellbound until the end.

A KILLER RETREAT is a charming cozy that provides relaxation and entertainment. This is a tantalizing series with the promise of more capers in the future.

A Killer Retreat by Tracy Weber, A Downward Dog Mystery Book #2, Midnight Ink, @2015, ISBN: 978-0738742090, Paperback, 336 Pages

FTC Full Disclosure – A copy of this book was sent to me by the author in hopes I would review it. However, receiving the complimentary copy did not influence my review. The thoughts are completely my own and given honestly and freely.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope wherever you are the weather is treating you kindly. Our temperatures have been in the low teens at night, barely out of the 30s during the day and it seems we have rain on the way today through Tuesday. Have you ever wished you could visit the places described in the books you read? This resort sounds like it would be a fun place to visit.

And yes, I have often yearned to visit places described in books. I would love to visit with the Ents. Still.

    1. Here in Seattle it's been gray and rainy--with a sunny day thrown in now and again just to keep us off balance.

  4. Mason - A retreat like that is a creative idea for a context! All sorts of things can happen when disparate people are gathered. Thanks for sharing.

    1. Even better when half of them are there for a wedding. There's something about weddings and funerals that bring out all of the unusual family dynamics. In spite of how much we try to hide them!
