Being a full time writer really is a job, although a pleasurable one. I still read for pleasure and read critically as a writer. Sometimes both at the same time. Usually the critiquer in me is noticing things I like, great metaphors, brilliant plotting, that sort of thing. And I have learned to discontinue reading a book that doesn't grab me. It's also a great reminder of why editors and agents stop reading a submission, so I pay attention to that, too.Elizabeth Varadan, Authorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01708206753256682635noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6582932888892465523.post-46060327618199964752015-10-29T07:39:01.553-04:002015-10-29T07:39:01.553-04:00This was really interesting! I think our perception of what we read, and our way of going about it, really do change once we become writers.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6582932888892465523.post-75171111000416071012015-10-29T05:46:08.703-04:002015-10-29T05:46:08.703-04:00I know my read time has grown smaller.
