It’s a pleasure to welcome author Terry Spear back to Thoughts in Progress to tell about her latest release, BETWEEN A WOLF AND A HARD PLACE, the seventh installment in her Silver Town Wolf series.

As part of the stop, Terry has answered a question about her writing. In addition, you have a chance to win a copy of BETWEEN A WOLF AND A HARD PLACE. Please see the end of the post for more details on the giveaway.

In Silver Town, the secrets run deep…

Alpha werewolf Brett Silver has an ulterior motive when he donates a prized family heirloom to the Silver Town hotel. Ellie MacTire owns the place with her sisters, and he’s out to get her attention.
Ellie is even more special than Brett knows. She’s a wolf-shifter with a unique ability to commune with the dead. Ellie has been ostracized, so she protects herself and those she loves by revealing nothing—not even when strange and dangerous things begin to happen in Silver Town. And especially not to the devastatingly handsome and generous wolf who’s determined to win her over…

BETWEEN A WOLF AND A HARD PLACE is available at the following sites: Amazon, Kobo, iBooks, and Barnes and Noble.

Now join me in giving a warm welcome to Terry as she talks about one of her characters. Welcome, Terry.

Who is your favorite supporting character from Between a Wolf and a Hard Place, and why?

Terry:
I always have several. Supporting characters bring the main characters to life.

I love the dynamics between the four brothers, their three cousins, and the three sisters.

Without them giving the main characters a hard time over the issue of Ellie dating another wolf, it wouldn’t be half as much fun. The same with them asking about the dream mating, how they relate to the ghost, and the concern over a missing Brett in the snowstorm.

It’s the brothers and cousins sitting at the tavern giving the guy Ellie is having a date with at lunchtime the evil eye that shows pack dynamics.

It’s his brother getting mad at Brett for causing trouble with his mate. It’s Ellie’s sisters dying to know just how far Brett is taking this courtship business.

It’s her sisters being amused about Brett’s nude modeling.

It’s his brothers’ and cousins’ involvement in trying to learn the truth about their great aunt.

They all have a part to play in giving the couple a hard time, loving them, playing with them, showing just what a Silver Town wolf pack is all about.

Terry, thanks for joining us today and sharing your thoughts on the supporting characters. They do play a large role in a story.

  1. It does sound like fun.
I like my supporting characters to be real, and to further the action/story. And I hate them to be stereotypical.

  2. Supporting characters are so important. Unfortunately, sometimes they become *too* important and want to steal the show! Sounds like Terry has a great balance.

  4. I always respect authors who can create these different worlds, and have them seem real. And as to supporting characters? They can really make a story special. Thanks for sharing, both.
