Kiss Me in Christmas {+ Giveaway}

While it may still be cold in some areas I know we’re well past the holiday season, but there’s no place like Christmas, CO, for a feel-good story.

Please join me today as I help celebrate the Blitz Day Launch for KISS ME IN CHRISTMAS by Debbie Mason (February 23, 2016; Forever mass market; Christmas, Colorado series Book #6). As part of the celebration, the lovely folks at Forever is hosting a tour-wide giveaway for five copies of the book. In addition, I’m sharing my thoughts on this delightful story.

Here’s a brief synopsis:

Actress Chloe O'Connor has become America's sweetheart, but back in little Christmas, Colorado, she's still remembered as a shy, awkward schoolgirl. And there's no one she dreads (and secretly wants) to see more than her high school crush, Easton McBride. Just one look from the former star quarterback and it's like she's instantly transformed from daytime drama queen to tongue-tied teenager. She's kissed Hollywood actors and famous cover models, so she can certainly play it cool while turning up the heat, right?
After an injury ended his military career, Easton McBride built a good life in the rugged countryside of his hometown. And the last thing he needs is his quiet solitude shattered by a high-maintenance temptress who isn't anything like the sweet Chloe he misses. While he enjoys the flirtation with this new bold and beautiful woman, he can't help but wonder whether a kiss could have the power to bring back the small-town girl he's grown to love.

KISS ME IN CHRISTMAS is available at Amazon, B&N, iBooks, Google, Kobo, and IndieBound.

MY THOUGHTS:

I had the opportunity to read a print copy of this enchanting book as part of the Blitz Day Launch. Before I finished the book, I also had the chance to listen to the audio version and couldn’t resist it. My thoughts are from both the print and audio copies I would highly recommend both formats.

KISS ME IN CHRISTMAS by Debbie Mason

While one might think of this as a typical romance story, it’s also the underlying messages that author Debbie Mason does an excellent job bringing to the surface.

Narrator Becket Royce does a wonderful job giving unique voices to all the characters. The variations in her cadence adds depth to the characters as she explores their emotions. Her mannerisms were spot on.

Throughout the story, Mason has her protagonist – Chloe O’Connor – dealing with shyness, health issues and family approval. She weaves these issues into the story in ways that readers/listeners can relate to.

While on the surface Chloe appears superficial and a bit of an airhead, she’s really an intelligent, caring woman who’s afraid of being rejected. Sometimes her best intentions where her twin sister is concerned backfires, but she really doesn’t mean harm.

The author has created the typical ‘white knight’ character in the form of Chloe’s high school crush, Easton McBride. But his armor is a bit dented by his own problems he must overcome.

KISS ME IN CHRISTMAS is a light-hearted, feel-good story. It moves at a good pace with a few twists, turns and suspense, as well as lots of laughs. There’s a good mixture of romance and humor throughout the book. The surprises will keep you guessing as to what could possible happen next.
The small town setting is impeccable for this story loaded with family ties and friendship. The quirky residents of the town add charm and enhance the story.

While it might sound like a strange town to visit, Christmas is the perfect place for families to come together and lost loves to find their way home.

  1. What fun.
And no, I don't think I would like to live in a town named for a holiday. Not quite sure why, but no.

  2. A town named Christmas would be odd. Although cool, as they would probably celebrate it all year.
