Books that inspire youngsters to read are always a good thing. When the youngsters can also learn as they’re having fun reading makes it an added bonus.

I have three books to share with you today that will provide delightful entertainment for the youngsters in your life. In addition, they will also be learning life lessons as they enjoy the adventures. To add to the inspiration, one of the books was written and illustrated by a 5-year-old boy.

Captain No Beard coverCaptain No Beard, his first mate and cousin Hallie, and their zany crew sail the mighty seas on his frigate, the Flying Dragon. Each morning the captain gives out the daily orders to his crew.

During one adventure the captain and his crew sailed into a massive storm where the first mate was almost washed overboard. Then a mermaid appeared with a bounty of treasure and the crew ended the day with a pirate’s feast.

Author Carole P. Roman does a wonderful job taking youngsters through an imaginary day in the life of a pirate. Filled with pirate lingo, CAPTAIN NO BEARD will delight youngsters of all ages on this fanciful journey.

The beautiful and vivid illustrations will hold readers’ attention. The cheerful and bold drawings brings the tale to life.

This charming tale will entertain and inspire youngsters to undertake their own imaginary voyages. A fun read, colorful drawings, and a rich imagination will make this a favorite at story time.
