Acadian Waltz by Alexandrea Weis & A Giveaway

I recently had the opportunity to participate in another fun virtual book tour for an author whose work I wasn’t familiar with. I’m glad I signed up as I enjoyed the story and the author’s style of writing.

Thanks to the author and the lovely tour promoter Babs, I have one eBook copy of ACADIAN WALTZ by Alexandrea Weis to giveaway. Please see the end of the post for the guidelines.

Acadian Waltz by Alexandrea Weis

Acadian WaltzMothers sometimes have a way of making their daughters feel guilty. Claire Mouton Gaspard Kehoe Schuller knows exactly how to push the guilt button when it comes to her daughter, Nora Kehoe, about a little thing called marriage.

At thirty, Nora feels the pressure to settle down as her mother constantly tells her she wants grandchildren. While on a blind date, Nora unexpectedly ends up in the emergency room where she meets Dr. John Blessing. The good doctor is the answer to her mother’s prayers. Nora feels in time the pragmatic doctor could be what she wants too.

However, life takes another unexpected turn for Nora when she has to go to Manchac, Louisiana, to care for her ailing uncle. Once there, Nora has a passionate encounter with her childhood friend Jean Marc Gaspard.

Jean Marc manages the family business, Gaspard Fisheries, but rumors have it he may be into way more dangerous endeavors. Jean Marc tries to protect Nora, but it may cost him dearly.

Nora finds herself torn between what is expected of her - marry the good doctor - and what she not sure of, but thinks she wants - the charismatic Jean Marc. It’s a dangerous tale of smugglers, swindlers, family loyalty, love, hope and a fine line between right and wrong.

ACADIAN WALTZ will stay with you long after you read the last line. Author Alexandrea Weis has created realistic characters you will love and want to shake sense into at the same time. The characters have faults, actions and temperaments like people you know.

Weis has an eye for detail. Her vivid descriptions place the reader in the middle of the setting. Her way with dialog draws you in and makes you feel you’re with the characters. Her style is easy going and fun to read.

The story flows at a steady pace keeping your attention from beginning to end. There are twist and turns along the way, as well as a steamy romance. ACADIAN WALTZ is an intriguing story, great for a summer read.
