Perfect Misfits by Lawna Mackie

Almost everyone enjoys the typical love story of boy meets girl, couple falls in love, overcome problems and live happily ever after. But what if21 that love story has a bit of a twist?

In author Lawna Mackie’s love story – PERFECT MISFITS - the boy is a gargoyle and the girl is a misfit fairy. Before they can be happy, they have to overcome the evil overseer of the mountain were misfit creatures are banished to.

Gargoyles don’t dream and they don’t fall, that is unless they’re Ryder. Commander of the Levarian legion of gargoyles, Ryder is plagued by a recurring dream of a woman. Each time he dreams, he falls from his post and a red-hot, searing pain in his paw relives a crescent-shaped scar. Driven to find the woman, Ryder lets himself fall. In doing so he comes face to face with the woman of his dreams in a place he never knew existed.

Tempest is imprisoned in the hidden realm of Misfit Mountain where she was taken after being snatched away as a child and labeled a misfit. Fedor, the ruler of the kingdom, has her locked up and intends to make her his bride. Tempest is determined to escape even if she has to brave the dangerous snow and ice of the mountain.

When Tempest and Ryder are brought together, neither is looking for love, but sometimes love has other ideas.

Mackie has given life to intriguing characters that seem realistic despite their paranormal status. They are well-developed with emotions and actions readers can relate to.

The story flows smoothly and draws you in. The journey from beginning to end is filled with suspense, romance and a tantalizing tale that captures your imagination.

PERFECT MISFITS is an enjoyable read that will transport you to another world filled with fascinating characters.

  1. Fantasy romance isn't usually my thing but this one sounds intriguing. I may have to do a little out-of-my-usual-genre reading.
